Nurudeen Elegbede (President)
Nurudeen Elegbede brings a unique combination of leadership skills, and a deep commitment to community service and development. He possesses a genuine passion for community growth and social change. He decided to channel his expertise and skills towards making a positive impact on the community he calls family. His leadership style is characterized by transparency, integrity, and a collaborative spirit that empowers others to actively contribute and make a difference.
Education: Nurudeen earned a MSc. in Applied Cybersecurity and MEng. in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, both from the prestigious University of New Brunswick, Canada, MSc. in Computer Science from Texas Southern University, USA, and a BSc. In Computer Science from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria.
Career: Nurudeen is an accomplished Senior Business Analyst with a proven track record of driving strategic initiatives, delivering exceptional results, and leading teams to success. Having navigated various industries and leadership roles in government, telecommunication, Insurance, education and manufacturing . His specialized skills encompass a range of areas vital for effective leadership, including Hands-on experience with managing and configuring complex enterprise applications and ability to recognize business critical issues, design and implement professional strategizes for prompt and feasible solutions.
Cynthia Njideka-Ogunsola (Vice President)
Cynthia Njideka-Ogunsola is a passionate and dedicated Counseling Psychologist with a deep-rooted commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. she brings a unique perspective and a genuine desire to empower and inspire those around. She actively involves herself in community involvement, volunteering with organizations such as the Canadian Red Cross Society and the Codiac Navy League Corps, firmly believing in giving back to the community.
Education: Cynthia holds a BSc. and Bedu. degree from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She has also undergone many certified courses in her field, such as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), British Montessori program, and outside of her field, like Business Analysis, Screenwriting, Proofreading and Copyediting courses. She is a Licensed Nigerian teacher and is on her way to becoming a Licensed International Education Agent in Canada (ICEF).
Career: Cynthia believes in the value of being knowledgeable about a little bit of everything. She has worked in various settings, including working with children, youths, adults, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams or advocating for the rights and well-being of her clients, Cynthia consistently demonstrates a genuine passion for her work. She possesses a natural ability to empathize, actively listen, and understand the unique needs and experiences of those she works with.
Ridwan Dairo (General Secretary)
Ridwan Dairo is a tech savvy that enjoys using technology to solve complex human issue, and always looking for better ways to get things done. His continuous improvement skills enhance his passion and gives him an edge in using seamless process to create impactful solutions to community challenges. He is a doer, who strongly believes in action over mere voice. Ridwan believes in community value and understands the significance of compassion in community building through technology.
Education: Ridwan holds a MSc. in Applied Cybersecurity from University of New Brunswick. Prior to this, he earned a BSc. in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
Career: Ridwan Dairo is a highly resourceful young professional with a cumulative 7 years experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst, DevOps Engineer Lead, Network Administration, and System support. He is proficient in triaging, remediating, and escalating simple to complex security incidence, and the management of DevOps processes.
Saater Samson Awuapila (Treasurer)
Saater Samson Awuapila is passionate about community building and social empowerment. He is a registered volunteer with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative and the Greener Village (Home of the Fredericton Food Bank). He is also a registered voluntary blood donor with the Lagos State Blood Transfusion. He loves to deploy his professional wealth of experience to help sustain the growth of communities. He is happily married with kids.
Education: Samson holds a BSc in Accounting at the Benue State University Makurdi, Nigeria. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) as well as a member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
Career: Samson is a seasoned Accountant/Business Analyst with over 15 years of professional experience across Engineering, Financial services, Maritime, Hospitality, Oil and Gas sectors. He has successfully navigated his career leading to various leadership roles which include being the Chief Accountant-Nigeria for PS Offshore Nigeria Limited, an operator of Offshore Supply Vessels with offerings for International Oil companies. His specialized skills encompass Process improvements, financial reporting, Treasury and Tax management amongst others.
Margaret Essien (Public Relations Officer)
Margaret Essien is a jovial, dynamic, and energetic person with extensive experience in market research and integrated experiential marketing. Her affinity for community growth through the dissemination of true and timely information to enrich people’s lives motivates her to be part of the people’s servant.
Education: Margaret holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and an MBA from Lagos State University. Her academic journey has shaped her passion for communication, advertising, and business management. Through her work experience, she has developed a strong foundation in strategic marketing and a keen understanding of communication dynamics.
Career: Margaret’s career spans over 20 years in the market research and advertising industry, where she has honed her skills in strategic sponsorship management, public relations, and integrated marketing communications. She has worked with esteemed organizations, globally. She has successfully managed many client projects throughout her career, including product launches, experiential marketing campaigns, and integrated marketing strategies.
Her passion for strategic marketing and data-driven problem-solving fuels her drive to create impactful and innovative solutions. She is an Integrated Marketing and Communication Specialist at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, where she brings her expertise to diverse university-wide marketing projects.
Anthony Onyewadume (Community Outreach Lead)
Anthony Onyewadume is guided by the philosophy of “Ubuntu,” he believes in the interconnectedness of individuals. Anthony prioritizes God, family, friends, and community. His commitment to positive change is reflected in his volunteer work, contributing to tech-based socioeconomic projects, pandemic response initiatives, and many others. He is also active in the entertainment industry writing, performing, directing music productions and hosting events.
Education: Anthony holds a MEng. in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of New Brunswick. Additionally, he earned a MBA from Business School Netherlands, majoring in Business Administration. His academic journey began with a BSc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Lagos, showcasing a strong foundation in both technical and management disciplines.
Career: Anthony is an accomplished I.T Project/ Program Manager and Business Analyst with a robust 17-year track record in successfully delivering large and complex projects. Proficient in various methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid, Anthony excels as a team leader with strong communication and presentation skills. His ability to translate complex data into actionable plans, coupled with his creative and organized approach, sets him apart in the field.
